Bringing Back Bright Smiles
Restorative treatment focuses on repairing and restoring damaged or decayed teeth, helping your child regain optimal oral health.
At Cobblestone Kids Pediatric Dentistry, we tailor each treatment to your child's specific needs, prioritizing functionality and great looks. Here's why personalized care is important in your child's restorative treatment journey:
No two smiles are the same, and neither should be the approach to dental care. Our dentists take the time to understand your child's unique dental situation, considering factors such as their age, dental history, and overall oral health.
This personalized approach allows us to develop a customized treatment plan that addresses their specific needs, ensuring the best possible outcomes.
Comfort & Confidence
We prioritize your child's comfort throughout the restorative treatment process. By tailoring our approach to their needs, we create a comfortable environment and instill confidence in them, making each visit a positive experience.
Renewing Smiles With Precision
At Cobblestone Kids Pediatric Dentistry, we offer a range of restorative treatment options to address various dental concerns. Our team will guide you and your child through each step, ensuring effective and gentle care.
Let's explore some of the restorative treatment options we provide for our Philadelphia and Cherry Hill patients:
Tooth-Colored Resin Fillings
Dental decay is a common issue among Philadelphia and Cherry Hill children, but our tooth-colored resin fillings offer a discreet and effective solution. These fillings are made of composite resin materials that blend seamlessly with your child's natural tooth color.
They not only restore the strength and functionality of the tooth but also provide a natural-looking appearance, enhancing their smile. We‘ll see if fillings are right for your child on a case-by-case basis, as larger cavities, particularly in baby teeth, tend to respond better to amalgam fillings.
Protecting & Strengthening Teeth
When a tooth is extensively damaged or weakened, a crown can restore its strength and protect it from further deterioration. At Cobblestone Kids Pediatric Dentistry, our dental crowns are custom-made to fit your child's tooth precisely.
They provide durable protection, allowing your child to chew, speak, and smile with confidence.
In the case of baby teeth, we use stainless steel crowns exclusively. If your child needs a front-tooth crown, we use a resinous plastic facing over the crown for cosmetic purposes.
Baby Root Canals (Pulpotomies)
Saving Teeth from Extraction
In cases of severe tooth decay or infection, a baby root canal, known as a pulpotomy, may be recommended.
We’ll remove the top of the tooth’s nerve and the infected or damaged pulp inside the tooth, then treat the remaining portion of the pulp, disinfect the area, and fill it with a biocompatible material to protect the root canal.
By preserving the tooth's structure, we can avoid premature extraction, maintain proper alignment, and save space for permanent teeth. This is important for your child if decay has spread to the nerve of the tooth.
Following this procedure, we generally recommend the tooth receive a stainless steel crown cover for protection.
Safe & Gentle Tooth Removal
In certain situations, a tooth extraction may be best, such as when a tooth is severely decayed, damaged, or causing crowding issues. Our skilled dentists prioritize your child's comfort and well-being throughout the extraction process, ensuring a gentle and pain-free experience.
We place a space maintainer if a primary molar extraction is necessary, and we offer solutions for replacing missing teeth, such as orthodontic treatment.
Restorative treatment plays a vital role in maintaining your child's oral health and ensuring their beautiful smile for years to come. By choosing Cobblestone Kids Pediatric Dentistry, you're placing your child's dental care in the hands of skilled professionals who prioritize personalized care and comfort.
